It’s never too cold for a boat parade! And the perfect time to have one is during the holiday season when the boats are lit up and everyone is sipping something warm and enjoying the sights.

There’s two fun Connecticut holiday boat parades to check out!

The first one is Mystic’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade on November 26th! Gather at 2:00 p.m. at the Mystic River Park to watch Santa arrive on a 60’ tug boat. Stick around after because at 6:00 p.m. the tree is lit and then at 6:20 the boats take off down the Mystic River! For more information on viewing the parade and for entering your own boat check out this link https://www.mysticchamber.org/12-events/28-holiday-lighted-boat-parade

The second parade to check out is the annual Trees in the Rigging Community Carol Sing and Boat Parade in Essex, CT. The carol begins at 4:30 p.m. and at it’s conclusion at the Connecticut River Museum you can watch the boats decked in holiday garb. The best viewing is from the lawn of the Connecticut River Museum at the foot of Main Street.  Santa and his elves will arrive by one of the parade boats for visits with children on the lawn of the Museum.
